Member Service Representative: 

Hoya Federal Credit Union, in Washington, DC, seeks a qualified, highly motivated Member Service Representative to join our Team.

The Member Service Representative is responsible for performing a broad variety of duties such as opening and closing accounts, renewing certificate accounts and assisting members with bookkeeping and checking account problems.  Answers member questions regarding Credit Union services and performs a variety of account maintenance.  Cross sells services and performs related receptionist and secretarial functions as required.  Assists or refers members with any and all questions or problems that arise. Attends to all telephone inquiries and transactions for members.

Responsible for ensuring members’ expectations are met or exceeded through the effective communication of information, timely processing of transactions, and prompt resolution of member issues.  Is the first point of contact for inbound member service related calls, voicemails, and emails in a fast-paced environment where service excellence is top priority.  Must process information, analyze data, and make judgments while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. High priority placed on quality service and willingness to work in a team environment to accomplish goals. Excellent benefits package including health, dental, visions, disability and life insurance, and 401(k) plans.


Qualified candidate will possess excellent communications skills both verbal and written; computer knowledge – Windows operating system; ability to handle multiple tasks; credit union/bank, or retail and/or sales experience preferred; display a positive and professional demeanor; ability to evaluate credit reports and lending skills a plus.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
